Bespoke Practical Prop Fabrication for Only Human’s “Liming with Gran”
MACHINESHOP was commissioned to design, engineer, and fabricate custom practical props for the commercial campaign “Liming with Gran” by Only Human. For this specific project, our team focused purely on high-fidelity prop making, custom-building a bespoke set of hand-engraved dominoes that serve as a central narrative element in the commercial.
The embedded behind-the-scenes videos highlight how our model-making technicians developed these premium tokens to ensure flawless visual and physical continuity during close-up camera framing.
Bespoke Domino Prop Engineering & Fabrication
Our workshop team custom-built the domino tiles to deliver a premium look and an authentic, high-quality tactile response during the game sequences:
- Precision Laser Engraving: Utilizing a laser cutter to engrave the details with crisp, perfect lines that stand out under studio lighting.
- Weighted Tactile Feel: Internal balancing and hand-finishing to produce a satisfyingly heavy, realistic weight when used by the actors on set.
- Macro Close-Up Ready Finish: Buffing and polishing the surfaces to eliminate artificial tooling marks, making the props completely ready for macro camera lenses and tight tracking shots.
