MACHINESHOP fabricated a highly specialized, custom interactive prop for British Vogue’s editorial film campaign “A Day in the Life of Saoirse Ronan”. Developed to bring a surreal, high-fashion comedic element to the screen, our workshop turned an absurd conceptual brief into a fully functional piece of wearable architecture.

Our prop-making team focused on building a completely custom, lightweight wearable vending machine that Saoirse Ronan could comfortably stand inside and walk around in on set.

Advanced Costume Engineering & Structural Prop Making

Replicating a large vending machine as a mobile, wearable costume piece demands strict weight management and high-definition macro finishes:

• Lightweight Composite Fabrication: Building the primary chassis walls from specialized, high-rigidity structural plastics and aluminium framing to mimic the heavy look of a steel vending appliance without the excessive weight.
• Optical Clarity Screen Shielding: Fitting the front faceplate with a premium, glare-resistant clear acrylic window layer designed to withstand the harsh reflections of high-fashion studio key lights.
• Seamless Art Department Integration: Working hand-in-hand with production designer Danny Hyland to execute crisp graphical decals so the wearable prop completely passes as a real machine.
