Bespoke Large-Scale Prop Fabrication for Dior’s “Paris Olympics 2024”

MACHINESHOP engineered and fabricated highly specialized, custom practical prop installations for luxury fashion house Dior’s major campaign supporting their sponsorship of the Paris Olympics 2024. Developed to combine high-fashion tailoring heritage with monumentally scaled sports artistry, our special projects workshop turned delicate tool concepts into striking structural realities.

Our expert prop-making technicians milled and sculpted two larger-than-life, giant needle props from scratch, engineered specifically to handle close-up camera scrutiny. The embedded campaign video and behind-the-scenes capture the precise workshop carving and surface finishing required to deliver these magnificent, towering pieces flawlessly under the directors’ lighting rigs.

Advanced Workshop Engineering & Giant Needle Prop Sculpting

Replicating tiny sewing utensils at an immense, towering scale requires absolute mathematical calibration, robust structural cores, and high-fidelity metallic finishes:

  • Precision Milling & Sculpting: Utilizing high-resolution workshop machinery to shape the tapering profiles and elongated contours of the giant needles with razor-sharp alignment.
  • Seamless Needle Eye Engineering: Custom-carving the delicate open loops at the head of each scaled prop, ensuring perfectly smooth inner radii that photograph beautifully.
  • Flawless High-Gloss Metallic Finishes: Executing multiple rounds of hand-sanding, filling, and industrial chrome priming to eliminate all tooling lines, creating a pristine, reflective steel look under high-definition cameras.
